Senior Shipper/Receiver & Yard Coordinator

Fraser Valley Refrigeration looking for a highly experienced, dependable Shipper/Receiver & Yard Coordinator to step into a key role within our operation. This position is replacing a long-tenured team member, so we’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running, take ownership of the yard, and keep everything organized, tracked, and moving efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all shipping and receiving operations, including verifying, loading, and unloading deliveries
  • Safely and confidently operate a forklift daily (including handling large, high-value equipment)
  • Load and unload large equipment such as rooftop units (RTUs) with precision and care
  • Maintain accurate, real-time inventory records and conduct regular cycle counts
  • Take full ownership of yard organization ensuring equipment, materials, and inventory are clearly tracked and properly stored
  • Prepare outgoing shipments and ensure all equipment is job-ready
  • Identify inefficiencies and proactively improve yard and inventory processes
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional yard always
  • Work closely with office and field staff to coordinate logistics and priorities
  • Follow and enforce all safety procedures and company policies

Qualifications (Must-Haves)

  • Valid forklift certification and strong, proven operating experience (minimum 3–5 years preferred)
  • Demonstrated experience safely loading/unloading large equipment (RTUs or similar heavy/oversized units)
  • Strong understanding of inventory control and equipment tracking systems
  • Ability to work independently and take full ownership of responsibilities
  • High attention to detail, nothing slips through the cracks
  • Physically capable of handling heavy materials and working outdoors year-round
  • Reliable, punctual, and consistent

Strong Assets (Nice-to-Haves)

  • Experience managing a yard or working in HVAC, construction, or equipment rental environments
  • Mechanical aptitude, ability to spot issues with equipment before they become problems
  • Experience improving or implementing tracking/inventory systems
  • Leadership mindset (informal or formal)
