Lead Refrigeration Installer

TAG Nashville, a TAG company is seeking a Lead Refrigeration Installer to support commercial refrigeration construction projects in and around the Nashville, TN area.
Role Summary:
The Lead Refrigeration Installer is responsible for leading field crews in the installation of commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems. This role performs hands-on installation work while overseeing crew activities, jobsite coordination, and quality control to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and in accordance with specifications.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Installation & Technical Work
• Unload, install, and maintain commercial refrigeration and HVAC systems, including compressors, controls, and piping
• Select appropriate pipe types, sizes, and materials based on project specifications
• Read and interpret blueprints and plans to ensure accurate installation and coordination with other trades
• Cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install metal and non-metal piping, including iron, steel, copper, and plastic
• Connect piping using threaded, soldered, brazed, fused, caulked, or cemented joints
• Secure piping with brackets, clamps, hangers, and supports
• Perform pressure testing and monitor gauges to identify leaks
• Operate machinery and equipment to verify system operation and repairs
Leadership & Jobsite Coordination
• Lead and supervise a crew of approximately 4–6 installers
• Coordinate daily work activities and communicate job expectations to crew members
• Participate in job planning meetings and relay instructions from supervisors and project leadership
• Oversee crew logistics during out-of-town work, including travel, meals, safety needs, and accommodations
• Ensure company-issued tools, vehicles, and equipment are used properly and professionally
Documentation & Compliance
• Maintain accurate job-related documentation and submit required reports on a weekly basis
• Track and document company purchases and job-related expenses
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards
• Promote safe work practices and support a culture of safety on the jobsite
Skills and Qualifications:
• High school diploma or GED required
• 3–5 years of commercial refrigeration installation experience (supermarket and rack systems preferred)
• Universal EPA certification required
• Strong blueprint reading and layout skills
• Ability to safely and effectively operate jobsite equipment and tools
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Professional communication and leadership abilities
• Ability to complete administrative and documentation tasks accurately and on time
Preferred Qualifications:
• Forklift, scissor lift, aerial lift, and rigging certifications (or ability to obtain and maintain)
• Experience leading installation crews on commercial refrigeration projects
