Area Controller

This is a great time to join TAG’s team at a high-growth stage and build several key accounting processes. TAG is looking for an Area Controller. A successful candidate will have a minimum of 7 years’ experience, preferably in a construction company. The Area Controller will serve as an integral part of the management team of operating entities it supports to ensure the BU meets key operational and financial goals.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Establish, maintain, and monitor strong processes and tools to accurately record and report the financial activity of supported operating entities. Collaborate effectively with Operations, IT, and the Shared Services Accounting team to ensure high-quality results.
- Prepare and/or coordinate financial reports and audits, ensuring full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as company policies.
- Partner with Arcticom and Business Unit leaders to deliver insights and analysis on business performance and emerging trends. Develop financial models, projects, and recommendations that support strategic planning, including both short- and long-term financial goals.
- Collect, interpret, and present financial data to management; support the preparation of annual budgets, budget processes, and financial forecasts.
- Support integration activities for newly acquired business units, including helping ensure accurate reporting and aligning their processes and systems with Arcticom standards.
Skills/Qualifications:
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, along with solid quantitative and analytical skills.
- Proven decision-making capability; detail-oriented, organized, and able to perform well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated success in completing financial statement audits on time.

Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is required
- CPA license is preferred
- 7-10 years of progressively responsible accounting experience preferably in construction industry
- Experience with Great Plains/Microsoft Dynamics a plus
- Strong knowledge of GAAP
This is a hybrid position with days required onsite in Puyallup.
